Updates To The Stuweb Systems
Web Updates.... Yes well its been a difficult time of year for many of us and I've been beavering away trying to train and fiddle with the results database. Given the target of the website is generally athlete focused I have been working on a couple of Important factors.
Photos
The results & Photos will now be a little more integrated as you may have seen you can tag the photos with your race numbers. This was a poor implementation as it was a quick and dirty fix based around a random suggestion.
All Photos can now be tagged however some of the galleries don't actually have results associated with them. They all now have an event now and that means that any photo can be tagged.
Boys, Girls, Ages
Very soon you will notice that all result profiles will include gender and category positions. These are created automatically at the moment, but we'll be moving to a more accurate method very soon.
You will have to click on the your name to see this detail but hopefully from an event or athlete or photo point of view you should also see your data.

Quiet Of Late
Not much going on in the world of race timing short of a taking a few bookings. Over the Christmas period I took delivery of a few more timing boxes and have some other bits and pieces on order for the coming season.
I would urge you all to visit the race calender for the up and coming events. I mainly working in the Midlands region so there is plenty there to get your teeth into. Wombourne Sprint (April) is selling out very fast at the moment and we expect it to fill over the weekend.
The next race we have on the books is the Chase Race Duathlon. Having raced this event last year I thought it was great, simple and relatively inexpensive. There is a video of the bike course in the bottom section of the website.
I look forward to seeing you at a race soon.

Successful Sportives
Just a quick reminder for those of you in the Midlands who are more into the bike than the Triathlon side of things. Garry Palmer of Sportstest Limited is running another Sportive Seminar which backs up his Recent Book.
The next seminar is to be held at the Sportstest office in the West Midlands, on Sunday 24th January at 4pm.
Labelled "A truly inspirational and motivating seminar, with proven scientific success" by Cyclosport.Org, the four hour session will discuss optimal preparation for cyclosportives. Sportive riders who would benefit from the session are likely to have events like the Raid Pyrenean, the Etape and the Marmotte, next summer as their main objective, but it will equally be of value to novice sportivers, or those looking to ride UK events only.

Waterpolo Plea
You may be aware that Water Polo is one of the eight sports that has had its funding cut in the recent announcement by UK Sport.
We have set up a petition on the 10 Downing Street website and wonder if you could put the link on your website and circulate this message to all your members
http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/WaterPolo2012/Also have a look at www.friendsofwaterpolo.co.uk
It is new website that we have set up to explain the issues and what we have done so far.

Results from the Worcester Aquathlon are online now. The photos are coming along later tonight as the compressing takes a little while but I thought the results would be of more interest. Congratulations to all who took part and in this what can only be described as freezing temperatures.
